The following patient journey gives you an idea of the process and how easy it is and what little time it takes for you to start hearing and living better.

First Leg of the Journey

• The first step towards improved hearing health is recognizing there is a potential hearing loss. Denial keeps millions of people from hearing better. Once an individual recognizes their hearing has declined, the rest of the process can begin.
• Make an appointment with a local McDonald Hearing Aid Center.
• First appointment at McDonald Hearing Aid Center:
  • Fill out paperwork for medical and hearing information, 3 to 5 minutes
  • Video ear inspection, 10 minutes
  • Complete computerized hearing evaluation, 20 minutes
  • Consultation and explanation of results, 10 minutes
  • Consultation for customized solution and personalized ear impressions, 20 minutes
• Delivery of hearing instruments, 7 to 10 business days from date of purchase
  • Fitting and instruction on how the hearing instrument works, explanation of maintenance care, 45 minutes
  • Computerized hearing program, AWARE™ session one, 15 minutes
• Follow up appointment, 7 to 10 days after receiving the instruments
  • Computerized hearing program, AWARE session two, 15 minutes
  • Adjustment and fine tuning if needed, 15 minutes
• AWARE appointment, 7 to 10 days after follow up
  • Computerized hearing program, AWARE session three and four, 30 minutes
• Completion of fitting and hearing solution process, 7 to 10 days after last AWARE appointment
  • Computerized hearing program, AWARE session five, 15 minutes
  • Explanation of results and benefits of the complete treatment and solutions, 15 minutes
  • Verification and fine tuning and adjustment from results, review short-term and long-term rehabilitation goals made during first appointment, 30 minutes

Four hours over forty to fifty days from first appointment for better hearing!

AWARE™

AWARE™ is an interactive listening program used exclusively by McDonald Hearing Aid Center to help hearing aid wearers improve their listening skills. The program begins when the instruments are delivered. AWARE contains self-assessment and training modules that help the user work independently as they progress from simple to more difficult auditory skills.

AWARE™ allows users to move at their own pace.

The five sessions include the following topics:

• Speech in noise training
• Competing voices training
• Rapid speech training

Commitment and active participation with AWARE is essential to the user’s success.

McDonald Hearing Aid Center offers a complimentary service package with the purchase of any Intel-A-Hear device. You won’t see this many great benefits offered for FREE by any other company!

Ototoxic Risk Assessment

This assessment reviews current medications that are being taken and gives patients an evaluation detailing whether any of them are causing you hearing damage or disequilibrium.

Rx Prescription Card

This card gives the patient and their immediate family access to drug interaction sweeps, a prescription counseling hotline, pharmacy and disease management programs, and special pricing.

3 and 5 Year Loss and Damage Warrant

The hearing instrument warranty includes a comprehensive maintenance and repair program based on a 90 day service schedule and a onetime replacement on your device if lost or damaged beyond repair.

Lifetime In-Office Adjustments

If at any time your hearing device isn’t working at full capacity, bring it into your local office for an adjustment.

Senior Home Seminars

McDonald Hearing Aid Center senior home seminars offer free hearing screenings and free professional cleanings of hearing instruments all done onsite at senior homes.

Do you hear but have trouble understanding? Maybe it’s just ear wax… Find out with our seminars on how hearing loss occurs and the treatment options available. We will discuss new technologies, alternative rehabilitation options, and other solutions available for treating hearing loss.

• 30 minute presentation
• Otoscopic evaluation included (to determine if it is just wax)
• Gift certificate available after seminar to receive a free hearing test by appointment only, in office.
