The following patient journey gives you an idea of the process and how easy it is and what little time it takes for you to start hearing and living better.

First Leg of the Journey

• The first step towards improved hearing health is recognizing there is a potential hearing loss. Denial keeps millions of people from hearing better. Once an individual recognizes their hearing has declined, the rest of the process can begin.
• Make an appointment with a local McDonald Hearing Aid Center.
• First appointment at McDonald Hearing Aid Center:
  • Fill out paperwork for medical and hearing information, 3 to 5 minutes
  • Video ear inspection, 10 minutes
  • Complete computerized hearing evaluation, 20 minutes
  • Consultation and explanation of results, 10 minutes
  • Consultation for customized solution and personalized ear impressions, 20 minutes
• Delivery of hearing instruments, 7 to 10 business days from date of purchase
  • Fitting and instruction on how the hearing instrument works, explanation of maintenance care, 45 minutes
  • Computerized hearing program, AWARE™ session one, 15 minutes
• Follow up appointment, 7 to 10 days after receiving the instruments
  • Computerized hearing program, AWARE session two, 15 minutes
  • Adjustment and fine tuning if needed, 15 minutes
• AWARE appointment, 7 to 10 days after follow up
  • Computerized hearing program, AWARE session three and four, 30 minutes
• Completion of fitting and hearing solution process, 7 to 10 days after last AWARE appointment
  • Computerized hearing program, AWARE session five, 15 minutes
  • Explanation of results and benefits of the complete treatment and solutions, 15 minutes
  • Verification and fine tuning and adjustment from results, review short-term and long-term rehabilitation goals made during first appointment, 30 minutes

Four hours over forty to fifty days from first appointment for better hearing!
